New assignments for Area Presidencies were announced from Salt Lake in June. President Workman (1st counselor) and President Schultz (2nd counselor) were reassigned to Salt Lake City after four years each in the Africa West Area Presidency. As they prepared to leave, there was a genuine outpouring of love from the members toward these leaders and their wives. The Workmans and Schultzes have served the people of West Africa faithfully. The Stake Presidents of the two Accra stakes decided to have an African Farewell Fireside for these couples. It was a wonderful experience.

There were two choirs: The Deseret Choir from the two stakes, and the Winneba Youth Choir, a semi-professional group that is well known in Ghana. |
The Winneba Youth Choir sounded like an polished adult choir. They sing religious music. |
After the fireside we were surprised to see that they really were youth (high school) from Winneba, Ghana. |
Angela Adjaye, administrative assistant for the Area Presidency was sad to see them leaving. Angie was the first Sister Missionary from Ghana. |
